Work Transition Program
The goal of this program is to teach people skills to obtain individual, integrated community employment. The program includes the in-house woodshop, in-house contract work, Postal Solutions (LifeQuest’s bulk mailing service), our shredding business and an employment classroom for students funded by school districts, which we call the Job Search Program.
People involved with the Work Transition Program spend their days at the Kilstrom Center (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) learning employment readiness skills such as:
The ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
The ability to follow directions.
The ability to attend to tasks.
Workplace problem solving skills and strategies.
General workplace safety and mobility instruction.
All efforts by the participants and staff of the Work Transition Program are focused on employment.
